Sybase snaps up Solonde

  • Print
Sybase announced on Wednesday that it acquired Germany-based Solonde, bolstering its data integration offerings.

The deal is designed to dovetail with Sybase's unwired enterprise strategy by offering a more comprehensive view of data from a multitude of sources. Sybase also intends to compliment its IQ analytics server and Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) data management system with Solonde's technology.

Last September, Sybase initiated a major upgrade of its ASE database by folding in encryption, improved support for XML data and enhanced performance.

Solonde grid technology aims to support all major databases, flat files, XML, Web-based services and SAP R/3.

The all-cash deal for privately held Solonde closed earlier this week. Financial terms were not disclosed.
