The big story this week is that legitimate Web sites are being compromised with links to exploit servers. Roger Thompson of Exploit Prevention Labs, who has been following this trend for several months, talks with CNET's Robert Vamosi about the latest attack based around a tool known as Mpack.

This week, Apple released Mac OS X 10.4.10 with a networking-security update, and a separate patch for Apple TV is being rolled out to fix a flaw patched last month on desktops.

Hewlett-Packard acquired security vendor SPI Dynamics and will make its security technology part of the HP Quality Center software.
