House Speaker Dennis Hastert is one of the most powerful men in Washington, being third in line for the presidency and all. But his campaign Web site looks more like it was created by a high-school student who stayed up all night just before his final project was due. It's not just the rampant misspellings, though we do congratulate the speaker for being "ednorsed" by the Northwest Herald. Nor is it the infrequently-updated "blog" which serves as a vehicle to repost press releases. It's the juvenile style, including improperly sized images of rubber duckies. It really does look like the site was ginned up by a high schooler. Or his wrestling coach.
