Interesting choice of time frame

Interesting that C|net chose to use the June quarter for its
statement of the iPod market share when the September quarter
number is much better (and they've been out for quite some
time).

Where's the backing data?

Also, where did c|net get the number that the iPod only had a 17
percent market share in June? That sounds awfully low and even
the article this claim links to does not support their statement.

yet another something vs ipod. I'm sick of it. and if the people
that wrote these even looked at the comments, they would know
that there are many people that are sick of it as well. If i wanted
to know about devices i would look at a pc/mac mag, not here.

Where did you get the 17% share from? Your link does not even
support it!

Stop with the iPod kill this and that and all that crap. This is
getting truly ridiculous, you'd think C/Net was part of a
concerted effort to discredit and eliminate iPods from the world
or something.

IT"S ON?!?!?!?!? MOLLY THE APPLE HATER

'it's on. Apple, it's on'

nice molly, at least you're coming out of your Cnet shell and
blatantly apple hating instead of trying to hide it behind 'news'.
this wouldn't be a big deal by itself, but taken along with all of
the other ipod-hating articles, it is outrageaous.

others have tried and failed, creative better be throwing out a
better player besides a ton of money to topple the ipod, despite
CNET'S APPLE-HATING LYING ATTEMPTS at discrediting the
ipod...

you guys really s*ck...

Just because C/net continues to challenge with comparing articles it does not mean they hate apple. What do you want them to do? say the ipod is just sweet and leave it at that? well no, there are other options and the fact that they compare them against the ipod (making ipod the excellence benchmark) is a compliment to the ipod. Kepp on bringing this kind of articles, the idea is to know what is going on, it is not C/net's fault that Creative said what it said, they are reporting it, you want them to simply not touch apple? leave it a the best and no more? that is silly, and really, rather simple minded. I will say that if creative wants to take the crown from the ipod, it will have to incorporate simplicity on their style, not just money, ipod sells because it looks great, and it is simple to use and a pleasure to have, few of the current players (the Zen micro is going in the right direction, so are some of the I-river players) are even close to the mini and the ipod; simplicity and style, follow that ZEN idea and make it as utilitarian and beautiful as a Zen koan.
