Loudcloud to buy Net services provider
In a statement, Loudcloud touted Frontera's "high quality" customer list, which includes Pioneer Electronics, Conseco, Wherehouse Music and Coach. Frontera, based in Los Angeles, offers Internet services including design and management.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Loudcloud, which does outsourcing work for business customers, was formed by Netscape Communications founder Marc Andreessen and colleague Ben Horowitz. The company has recently been trying to expand its services to cater to bigger businesses.
Pending stockholder and regulatory approval, the deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2002. Loudcloud said it would discuss the deal further during its fourth-quarter earnings call scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
