ADMIT IT...Rudy and Mitt FEAR the people
by tweakinreaper July 31, 2007 9:29 AM PDT
they gain the mass majority of thier funds from "special intrest" so they rather make the fast cash for promises to these "special intrest" if they get into office and not the INTREST OF THE PEOPLE
debates=voters
voters=donaters....but they rather get cash from the intrest groups(and protect them over the people) than the people they are suppose to protect. Ron Paul has no problem joining the debate as he is the voice of the people and not corporations...and face it...McCain is just desperate for $$$

IF THEY DONT COME THEY DONT SUPPORT THE PEOPLE
so have the debate for the candidates that support the people
from the people, for the people, by the people(after all thats what the constitution says and they are supposed to uphold it and protect it just as our police officers do and military fight for! as them no shows say "they attack us for our freedoms", why do they want to take away our freedoms with things like the patriot act?

LET THE PEOPLE SPEAK! LET THE DEBATE GO ON AS PLANNED!!!!if they dont want to show then they dont want the support of the people

Why YouTube? Why not real Q&A?
by Dean_Ansari July 31, 2007 11:13 AM PDT
1st, why are these Videos posted on YouTube?
It would take few days to develop a web site where people can upload Videos and have others download it and 1 month max to add some more bells & whistles to it. Why give this free Advertising to Google?
Oh I forgot, CNN parent has Billions of Dollars in Google stock & vis versa.

2nd, why not ask questions from real people, rather than people selected by CNN editors to have their funny videos shown? I mean take the Video camera and just go down to Union station or walk down the street with it and in a real random way ask the questions from people, so that in as much as possible the questions are from real people.

YouTube debates a gimmick
by LuvThatCO2 July 31, 2007 11:24 AM PDT
How are these any different from 'townhall' style debates that candidates have been having for time eternal?

If anything, these debates do exactly the OPPOSITE of what a 'townhall' debate does. When you get X-thousand questions posted, the moderators of the debate can then pick and choose the questions they want to use... basically, they can pick the questions they would have asked anyways. Its a total gimmick, and yet people are stupid enough to act like the candidates are then 'talking to the people'.

In a real town hall debate, the questio pool is limited, and the moderator cant then use his power to 'editorialize' by picking specific questions.

GOP Chickens! Or should it be sickoz?
by onlyauser July 31, 2007 12:19 PM PDT
The GOP candidates know that they are NOT on the same page of the majority of Americans. IMHO a CNN sponsored YouTube debate would be disaterous for them.

These old school gus are on the way out. The GOP needs to be re-worked to serve the people's interest not just the rich and big money.

Also, it is so ironic that the party that screams the most against big government (GOP). Is in reality all about the BIGGEST government. And it does not function worth a ****.

And let us not for get the "Moral Majority" LOL. Yeah the GOP has the most moral polititians. What a freakin' joke. This GOP party (and many of its hig-profile supporters) is the party of hypocrits and perverts.

These nuts are also spending our nations future on foreign nation building, financing war, demanding and pledging MORE defence spending. America supports 700+ military bases. Not only that but the US also out spends the other world military powers (all lumped together) by many times. JUST LOOK AT ALL THAT MONEY THAT COULD BE USED IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!

Why are my fellow Americans the most terrified country/people in the world? We does our country NEED to dominate every single world crisis.

Things are very currently going wrong in America.

One more thing to the GOP. Since it is obvious that you are all on drugs (and perverted acts). Listen to the words of Nancy Reagan and learn to "Just say no."

Was anyone surpised?
by The_Decider July 31, 2007 10:14 PM PDT
When was the last time Bush answered real question by real people? Oh yeah, never.

The repubs, with one exception, were too frightened to stand in front of the NAACP, and are terrified to answer to normal Americans.

That the dems avoided faux news is understandable. It would be like going to a debate hosted by the more honest then fox news, The Weekly World News(RIP).

NY Times ignores Paul, pretends all Repubs won't debate
by nicmart August 1, 2007 7:55 PM PDT
The headline of a New York Times article today by Katharine Seelye
is headlined "Republicans Shun Debate, and Right Cries Out." Of
course, Ms. Seelye and her editors couldn't be bothered to honestly
report that Ron Paul has agreed to participate in the YouTube
debate. Dr. Paul doesn't fit into the neat little box that the Times
has for Republicans.

Republicans and "Internets"
by g_m August 2, 2007 1:09 AM PDT
Dumbya the rabid ape, the champion of GOP, spoke of "Internets,"
so nothing surprises me from those 19th century zombies. They'd
ban electricity, if only they could run Cheney without batteries.

Have no party affiliation but ? what era Republicans R N...
by thesfdude August 2, 2007 3:10 AM PDT
You Tube debates are the wave of our future. Why is the only other party (choice) we have failing to step up and debate the American people? I'm beginning to think they don't think we've evolved even since Adam and Eve -- puzzling to me
