Honda's Hydrogen car gets certification
Honda this month announced that its FCX car, which runs on a hydrogen fuel cell, has received certification from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Until now, the ministry has granted certification to individual cars for the purpose of testing on public roads. The recently granted certification is for the class of vehicles intended for public sale. As a result, Honda says this is a crucial step toward mass production.
Honda has delivered a total of 19 FCX fuel cell vehicles to customers in the US and Japan since December 2002 for experiments.
