Dell to offer some PCs with Linux
Dell will begin selling a select lineup of desktop and notebook PCs with Linux pre-installed, the company announced on its Ideas in Action blog Wednesday. The posting does not give specific dates or models.
The announcement came in response to a survey launched earlier this month asking customers how Dell could improve its customers' Linux experience. Of the more than 100,000 respondents to the survey, 70 percent said they would use a Dell PC with a Linux operating system at home and at work.
Dell currently offers Linux in some servers and its Precision model workstations.
