Nokia phones blend tech, fashion
For some, everything is a potential fashion statement, even a cell phone.
The chic new additions to Nokia's L'Amour Collection are speaking to these people in particular. The phones, which will begin shipping in the fall, should allow consumers just enough time to coordinate them with their winter wardrobes.
The decorative tribal art, 3D applique, embossed leather finishing and ceramic tiling appear in muted, basic colors for style, but the phones' full-featured functionality makes them pretty on the inside too.
The Nokia 7390 clamshell--with ceramic-inspired shell and leather panels--is the company's first 3G fashion phone. It offers WCDMA high-speed connectivity, video calling, a 3-megapixel camera and a music player with one-button access. Along with the other two phones, the Nokia 7390 is available in the polarizing colors of bronze-black (masculine) and powder pink (feminine).
Style doesn't come cheap, and the retail price is expected to be a whopping $576.
The 7373 features detailed tribal patterns and embossed finishing in a compact swivel design. The decorations appear on the surface and continue underneath for when the phone is in use. It has a 2-megapixel camera, music and video player, and twin stereo speakers. Consumers have an added option of black chrome if they're not in the mood for bronze-black or powder pink.
The estimated retail price is the slightly more affordable $448.
The 7360 has metal, leather and transparent accents with a leather effect that wraps around the phone. It's equipped with FM radio, camera and MP3 ring tones. Again, two very contrasting color options: chrome/black and powder pink.
The estimated price tag of $256 is cheap in comparison.
