Free Comic Book Day coming up

For those who haven't been to the local comic book shop in a while, this Saturday will be a good day to pull yourself away from the computer and drop in. It's the fifth annual Free Comic Book Day, and thousands of comic book stores around the world (including my personal favorite, Al's Comics, which just moved into brand new digs) will participate by giving away comics.

In addition to the free issues, lots of shops are hosting artist signings. Participants range from local, indie artists to bigger names like Steve Dillon, Bill Morrison, Brian K. Vaughan, Brian Azzarello and Jill Thompson.

See a list of this year's give-aways here, and check for your closest participating stores at the FCBD site.
